COMPASSION BARN integrates the rescue and care of abused, neglected farm animals with humane education for "at-risk" youth. In addition, we offer free humane education presentations. We are based at Caring Fields Animal Sanctuary, a 23-acre sanctuary in Palm City, FL, which is owned and managed by the Pegasus Foundation. The site is currently home to horse & cat rescue organizations: Equine Rescue and Adoption Foundation and the Hobe Sound Animal Protection League; as well as a the Caring Fields Education Center and the Treasured Lands Foundation. Compassion Barn is a collaboration of KidsHelpAnimals.com, Urban Tails, and the South Florida Wildlife Center.

(6452 SW Markel Street/Palm City, FL 34990):

From I-95, North of Palm City

-Exit #110, Martin Highway/Route 714, turning left or east.
-Travel east 4.5 miles to Route 76A/48th Avenue (the street sign says Citrus Ave., which only goes to the north)
-Turn right or south onto 76A and follow 3 miles to SW Markel Street.
-Turn right or west onto SW Markel Street and follow 1.3 miles to 6452 (on the left).

From I-95, South of Palm City

-Exit #102, Palm City/Route 713, heading north.
-Follow Route 713 until the first stop light, which is Route 714.
-Turn left or west onto Route 714 and follow 1.4 miles (crossing over the turnpike) to Route 76A/48th Avenue (the street sign says Citrus Ave., which only goes north).
-Turn left or south onto Route 76A and follow 3 miles to SW Markel Street.
-Turn right or west onto SW Markel Street and follow 1.3 miles to 6452 (on the left).

From the Turnpike, North or South of Palm City

-Exit #133, Palm City/Stuart exit.
-Once through the toll plaza, turn left or west onto Route 714 (crossing back over the turnpike).
-Follow Route 714, 1.1 miles west of the turnpike to Route 76A/48th Avenue (the street sign says Citrus Ave., which only goes north).
-Turn left or south onto Route 76A and follow 3 miles to SW Markel Street.
-Turn right or west onto SW Markel Street and follow 1.3 miles to 6452 (on the left).
